Video Mapping At Tacoma Union Station
What a lovely day it was, Connor Elder and Jess Neumann were scheduled to be married and did so with style. The location was Tacoma Union Station in Tacoma Washington, the date was the 17th of December 2011 - the stage was set. Growing up with Connor, I knew him well. And here at Sensebellum, we were very flattered to provide services for their wedding.
That day, Sensebellum was pulling double duty by not only running video at the wedding but also running the projections on the ceiling. If you haven't been to the station it is quite lovely. It was used as an actual train station back in the day but now it serves as a Federal building and is rented out for various occasions throughout the year, one of them being this wedding. With such a beautiful interior, it was a dream come true to be able to video map the interior inside of the dome.
As the wedding ceremony subsided, the lights went out and the dancing shoes came on. It was our pleasure to flick on the switch and soon the ceiling joined the party. With each sub section of the ceiling containing a video, we then coded in elements to sync them to the music, and between projectors. We made sure to incorporate the colors of the wedding but we also couldn't help but throw in a little 'Hammer Time' when the Dj started playing some old school hits.
Thanks again to Vadis for renting the place, to Jess' Dad for calling me 'Sven' all day, and to all of the help in setting up.
And..... a big congratulations goes out to the newly weds Connor and Jess!
